Baptist Freedoms Class

Do you have questions about what it means to be Baptist? Did you – like so many others in our congregation – come from a different Christian background? Ever wonder how Lake Avenue Baptist Church can be so different from other Baptist churches you’ve heard about or visited?  Do you have questions about how we see our basic beliefs shape how we are church together?

Beginning September 27th, we will be offering 5 sessions on basics of Baptist Freedoms that shape what Baptists believe, how we live out our faith, how we work together within our congregation, how we cooperate with other Baptists, and why Baptists are such strong advocates of religious freedom.

September 27th -  Overview based on Acts 5:27-32 led by Amy Hopkin

October 4 – Bible Freedom based on Hebrews 1:1-2; 4:12-12 led by Susan Maybeck

October 11- Soul Freedom based on Matthew 16:13-18

October 18 - Church Freedom based on Romans 12:1-21

October 25 – Religious Freedom based on Matthew 22:15-22; Romans 13:1, Revelation 13:9-10

We’re still finalizing the leaders for later Sundays, so you can still volunteer! Contact Amy Hopkin if you’re interested.
