Supper and Something

Thursday Evenings from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Supper and Something Postponed until December 3, 2020

Over a number of weeks this group will engage in a variety of articles and podcasts which are intended to stimulate and foster conversation around the issues of race, and push us to do the necessary introspective work that will lead to engagement and action. We pray that this will be an effort in our collective responsibility to understand and claim our part in the development and perpetuation of systemic racism and understand what we must do to help build a better future together.

Monday from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Welcome to Lake Avenue Baptist Church, a unique American Baptist Church, that responds to Jesus’ call by practicing Gospel hospitality, Christian mission, and ministries of care, education, inspiration, and reconciliation.

Several hundred people find a spiritual home here.  We speak English and French, Congolese and Burmese, Chin and Karen, Kachin and Karenni. Here and there you will also hear Spanish or German.  With African-Americans as well as Africans, and Latino-Americans as well as Euro-Americans, our multicultural banquets, musical offerings, and dances are spectacular!

145 years ago our congregation began as a mission to our neighborhood and we continue today to be a “mission” church!

Come and experience for yourself a multicultural worship of God, love of neighbor, and reconciling outreach to the world of a new millennium.
