WHAT’S HAPPENING?
We encourage our church family to get together outside of worship times. Our church offers a range of social, learning and volunteer events that help strengthen our members as individuals and as a community.

SUPPER AND SOMETHING
Join us two times a month for a time of food and conversation. Our conversation will be centered around a core idea/topic/question ... just to get us chatting. Join us whenever you're able.
We meet:
First Thursday of the Month at LABC in the Fellowship Hall

SUNDAY MORNING SECOND HOUR ADULT EDUCATION
Join us each Sunday from 11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. following our Sunday Morning service and Fellowship TIme. We meet in Classroom 1/Conference Room and share in a variety of learning opportunities (Bible Study, Topical Exploration, Guest Speakers etc.). All are Welcome!

AFTERNOON OF ART AND FUN
School age Children and Youth are invited to come to the church on Thursday February 23, 2023 from 1-3 p.m. for an afternoon of fun and art! We look forward to seeing you there. Please reach out to Becka if you have questions (labcnextgeneration@gmail.com)
LABC 150TH ANNIVERSARY
LABC was founded in 1871. We have had an incredible history, where God has been moving in us and through us in so many exciting ways.
During the 2021-2022 Church Year, LABC will be celebrating it's 150th Anniversary. We encourage you to follow the link below to learn more about the exciting history of LABC and to join us as we move into our next 150 years!

PROPOSED STATEMENT ON ANTI-RACISM
LABC is in the process of affirming a congregation wide Statement on Anti-Racism. At the present time, our Anti-Racism Study Group has authored a statement that has been received and affirmed by the Church Council. During this time of education and conversation, this statement is available below:

Lake Avenue Baptist Church is a Christ-centered, diverse, urban, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, multi-lingual, mission-driven congregation of gifted and caring people. We welcome, unconditionally, all seekers of Christ’s love and direction: women, men, children, youth; people of diverse ages, races, histories, abilities and sexual orientations. We are American Baptist, with historically strong neighborhood and ecumenical commitments. We are:
* Claimed by Christ: We are God’s own and are not here by chance. We open ourselves to God’s Light and Love. We look to the Bible for guidance, and we respond to Christ’s call to discipleship.
* Committed to Community: As members of Christ’s Body, we are as family. We gather for creative and meaningful worship, helpful support and spiritual growth. We are building an open, welcoming, caring and respectful community. We uphold Baptist principles and support strong ecumenical and interfaith ties.
