Welcome -

Call to Worship -

Opening Prayer –

Oh God, who knows my thoughts and my intent,
Stir me to an awareness of your presence
in this space
where it is only me and mine
Open my ears, my heart, my will
to your Word
to your words of refocusing. re-minding
words of mending
By your Spirit turn me upward-outward
connecting me and mine beyond this space
to an awareness of You
of her, him, them
….of US…

Ah – your Spirit is not contained
Yes, your Spirit is NOT contained
nor am I
because of ekklesia
Ache – less – see – you
Ah – your Spirit is mending,
minding our awareness toward one another
holding us together, even if ever so delicately
You have our attention, God.

Shape our thoughts and our intent.
This is our prayer.
In the name of your Son, who has suffered and won.

Opening Hymn – For the Beauty of the Earth

Scripture Reading – Psalm 146

Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord, my soul.

I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save. When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing.

Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God. He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them—he remains faithful forever. He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry.
The Lord sets prisoners free, the Lord gives sight to the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous. The Lord watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked. The Lord reigns forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations.

Praise the Lord.

Prayer Celebrations and Concerns –

We invite you to spend a few moments thinking of the things that bring you joy and that bring you concern this day.
For those in their homes who are struggling with isolation and anxiety.
For those living in quarantine after positive diagnosis of Covid-19.
For all healthcare professionals going above and beyond to provide care.
For all of our political leaders at all levels who are providing leadership.
For charities trying to help in difficult times, while themselves feeling the struggle of the pandemic.

For Daphne, teen daughter of Alarice and Janet, who had a heart transplant last week.

Pastoral Prayer –

Special Music/Video - The Lord's Pray

Scripture Reading - Psalm 130

Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord; Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive
    to my cry for mercy.

If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you.

I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.

Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption. He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins.

Message – Trusting the Engineer

Hymn – Be Still My Soul

Benediction -

As we live in this new reality, may we know that we are not alone. The God who brought us into this world is with us, offering us peace for the journey and filling us with love that is ours to share. May we live as people of faith and people of light. Amen.

Sung Blessing

Go, my children, with my blessing, Never alone.
Waking, sleeping, I am with you; You are my own.
In my love's baptismal river
I have made you mine forever.
Go, my children, with my blessing - You are my own.

Go, my children, fed and nourished, Closer to me;
Grow in love and love by serving, Joyful and free.
Here my Spirit's power filled you;
Here his tender comfort stilled you.
Go, my children, fed and nourished, Joyful and free.
