Sponsored by Lake Avenue Baptist Church but made possible through the support of many other donors – individuals, foundations, corporations, and churches.
Case Management Services
   Assistance with medical care, social services, education, housing, employment,    transportation, and emergency needs.

  Support in cultural adaptation and immigration issues.

  Focused on refugees from Burma after their initial 6 months of resettlement        support through Catholic Family Center.

Coordinated by Refugee Outreach Coordinator, Hkadin Lee, and fulltime volunteer, Liz Ewell.

Uses many volunteers – both Americans and members of the refugee communities from Burma.

In partnership with Mary’s Place, a refugee ministry of the Cathedral Community and Catholic Charities, which provides clothes, tutoring, a summer lunch program, and a central location for weekday refugee services in the Maplewood-Edgerton area of Rochester.
The Refugee Coordinating Team

Networks between agencies, churches, community leaders and individuals serving refugees
Works directly with leaders of the different groups from Burma - Muslim, Karen, Chin, Karenni, Kachin, and Burmese.
Advocates for refugee concerns with the city, social services, and other agencies
Supports Rochester Refugee Women’s Network
Raises awareness of the needs and assets of refugees from Burma
Expanding to include needs of refugees from Congo
