SUNDAY, JANUARY 20, 2013:  Our Worship Service for all begins at 10:00 am. Following the service our Quarterly Congregational Meeting will take place.  We will discuss the 2013 budget as well as the 2013 - 2015 LABC Strategic Plan.  


SUNDAY, JANUARY 27, 2013:  Today we will collect the Retired Ministers and Missionaries Offering as well as our MEEK offering.  

 

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 2013:  10:00 am Worship and Communion for all.   



UPCOMING ADULT EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES


CLOTHE YOURSELF IN DIGNITY:  On Sunday, January 27th Rev. Joy Perkett will conduct this class which will focus on sweatshops, where our clothes come from and what we can do to improve conditions for garment workers at home and abroad.  This class will explore the importance of mindfulness and compassion in our purchasing and how our purchases can help work toward justice.  


NEW BIBLE STUDY WITH REV. DR.  MICHAEL FORD BEGINS ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 31 AT 1:00 PM:  The title of this study is the “Tough Sayings of Jesus”The four Gospels are filled with the words of Jesus - sayings that were remembered and recorded.  Sometimes we read words that Jesus said, or which were attributed to him and struggle with what they say about Jesus and Jesus’ message.  This study will look at some of these “tough sayings”.  Each week is independent meaning that if you miss a week or two, that’s ok.  You don’t need to be at all of the weeks.  The study will run for 10 weeks.
