The Gospel Spirits
The Gospel Spirits are a dedicated group of singers who provide music from the Black Gospel tradition every other week during the worship service.
The Gospel Spirits were founded in order to provide music in the Black Gospel tradition. The group from its beginning has sung both new contemporary music and the earlier style gospel. The choir has placed its guidance on the Holy Spirit in its rehearsals and in its worship presentation. The members consist of experienced and novice singers. The choir performs not only for the morning worship but the Christmas Eve service, Lake Avenue Music Festival, and other occasions throughout the year. The Gospel Spirits are open to all who wish to come. The group is directed and accompanied by Frederick Dicks and accompanied on the drums by Simon Greenfield-Tuttle. Rehearsals are every Wednesday from 6:30 -7:30 and the group leads in worship on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month.
